Mbuyelo is a Xitsonga word that means “rewards”. We as a company are driven by the fact that rewards are achieved for all efforts “put in”. We therefore bear a mind-set of unprecedented effort in all we do geared at building our company, in turn ensuring that our stakeholders get returns on their investments! The birth of Mbuyelo Group (Pty) Ltd(-later referred to as ‘Mbuyelo’), was informed by young energetic entrepreneurs employing their entrepreneurial imagination to bring to life a conglomerate they wished to see being one of the leading businesses in this country and abroad. The welcome changes in the mining industry in particular and the de-racialisation of the South African economy in general, provided impetus to what were initially dreams and visions of a few young people from the dusty rural areas of South Africa.

Since its establishment in 2006, Mbuyelo Group (Pty) Ltd remains a diversified business mainly focused on the resources and property sector. Mbuyelo utilized its joint venture relationships with its strategic partners to develop its first three mining projects in the Mpumalanga region which are producing over 200 000 multi product tons of coal per month with sales to the inland market. Mbuyelo boasts over a billion tons of coal within its portfolio, and is on course to becoming one of the biggest junior miners in the country through its multi product projects owned by its subsidiaries.

Mbuyelo also owns a property portfolio worth over R30 million of unencumbered assets through its property company, Mbuyelo Properties (Pty) Ltd. It is currently involved in property development projects within the Witbank area with its joint venture partners. The vision is to develop residential areas/properties, which are at an extremely high demand within the Mpumalanga area, due to the construction of the new Eskom Power Stations and further mining developments.

Mbuyelo Mining Services include the logistics of coal resources and appropriately, owns a fleet of trucks and earth moving equipment which is used for Mining Contracting.

From being the vision of a few entrepreneurs, Mbuyelo has grown to be a vibrant business that has become a home and incubator to other businesses and like-minded individuals.
